A tweet from YoungHoon Kim has caused a stir on crypto media and social platforms: he predicts that Bitcoin will rise to $220,000 within 45 days. This figure is not only significantly higher than the current price (around $95,400 at the time of reporting), but also comes at a rapid pace, sparking intense discussions between extreme bulls and strong skeptics.
Kim claims to have the highest IQ in the world (276) and is also a memory master. He founded the United Sigma Intelligence Association and is well-known online as a “genius with high IQ”. However, his IQ claims have not been widely independently verified, which has become an important point of skepticism.
Kim holds an extremely optimistic belief in Bitcoin. He believes that Bitcoin is the “last hope” for the future economy and sees Bitcoin as a potential asset that could surpass traditional reserve assets such as gold and national currencies. He also claims to have converted all his assets into Bitcoin and expects a “100-fold” increase in value over the next decade.
Despite Kim’s predictions being very eye-catching, many people are skeptical. First, the speed of his prophecy is astonishing; achieving such a big pump in a short period is almost inconsistent with traditional technical analysis. Secondly, his commitment to use the profits to build churches raises doubts about whether this is more of a declaration of faith rather than a pure investment. Furthermore, the recent large outflows of funds from the crypto market, along with the high volatility, cast a shadow of reality over his predictions.
From a technical perspective, a strong buying pressure and continuous inflow of funds are needed to support such a rapid rise in Bitcoin. However, reports indicate that there has been a massive outflow and liquidity pressure in the crypto market recently. Additionally, some analyses point out that the current price structure and historical data do not support such a drastic short-term rise. If the funds do not keep up, such predictions are difficult to realize.
More dramatically, Kim promised that if his prediction is correct, he would donate all Bitcoin profits to global church construction. He quoted the Bible, Luke 1:37, on social media, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” This declaration, rich in religious significance, imbues his entire prediction with a strong sense of mission and raises curiosity about his motives.
For ordinary investors, such predictions are both attractive and dangerous. If you are bullish on Bitcoin in the long term, Kim’s beliefs and vision may pique your interest. However, if you value risk management more, making investment decisions based solely on one person’s bold predictions may not be wise. A rational approach is to combine technical analysis, capital flow, and market fundamentals to let facts speak, rather than just faith and declarations.
