South Korea states that North Korea's launch of an unidentified projectile failed; the North has not responded yet.

People’s Finance and News April 8 reports: The ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a local-time briefing on April 8 that, on the 7th, North Korea launched an unidentified projectile from the Pyongyang area toward the east, but the projectile experienced abnormal conditions in the initial stage of the launch and was ultimately destroyed. The ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff said that South Korean and U.S. intelligence agencies are analyzing the detailed specifications of the projectile. North Korea has made no response to this so far.
