Shenzhen Huaqiangbei now has a memory module clearance sale, with some models dropping nearly 30% in price within a week, according to merchants.
Caixin Media reporter visited the Shenzhen Huaqiangbei electronics market today and learned that since last week, the spot prices of DDR5 memory modules have fallen noticeably. Among them, the 32G DDR5 memory modules that were priced at around 3,000 yuan per stick last week this week have seen price drops ranging from 500 to 1,050 yuan per stick. “We just sold off a batch of products at a price of 2,500 yuan per stick.” A merchant said that some DDR5 products are currently being liquidated, and even a merchant said the liquidation price is 1,950 yuan per stick.
As for expectations for the future, interviewed merchants had differing views: some merchants believe there may still be a further downward trend, while others believe that because upstream prices support this round of price cuts, the decline may be difficult to sustain.
A person from a listed company with a memory module business said that this round of liquidation may be due to weak market demand such as short-term system build-outs, as well as downstream merchants wanting to turn over inventory quickly, but price pullbacks will not affect the upward trend of the entire storage industry, including memory modules.
