Two Sessions Spirit Sharing Session | Legislator Lee Hui-kiang hopes that Legislator Ding Xuexiang can achieve five key expectations
The Legislative Council held its first-ever “Two Sessions Spirit” sharing session this morning, where, together with Members and the management of the Legislative Council Secretariat, participants learned about the important spirit of the National Two Sessions.
Ding Xuexiang lauds the work of the HKSAR government, including fire response
Legislative Council President Li Huiqin posted on a social media platform, saying that she shared with Members the remarks made by Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of the State Council, during the Two Sessions when he met with the Hong Kong deputies to the National People’s Congress and the Hong Kong members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Ding Xuexiang affirmed the work of the HKSAR government, including the successful conclusion of the election of the Eighth Legislative Council, the HKSAR government’s response and arrangements in the event of a fire, progress made in key national security cases, new breakthroughs in economic development, and also greater initiative and proactive efforts to integrate with, and serve, the overall development of the country.
She also hoped that Members could work together to implement Ding’s “five-point hopes,” namely, to connect well with the country’s “14th Five-Year Plan,” uphold and improve the principle of governance led by the administration, firmly safeguard national security and Hong Kong’s social stability, solidly promote high-quality economic development, and develop and strengthen the forces that love the country and Hong Kong. As the Vice Premier Ding said, the Legislative Council has much to do and can play a major role in upholding and improving governance led by the administration, and she believes these are the key work priorities of this Legislative Council.
Go deep into the community to collect public input and help the Government formulate a 5-year plan
Li Huiqin emphasized that the HKSAR Government is currently drafting Hong Kong’s first-ever 5-year plan. The Legislative Council will continue to go deep into the community and collect public input, helping the HKSAR Government turn citizens’ voices into down-to-earth policies that are closer to the people’s real sentiments, while also aligning with the needs of the country, integrating with and serving the overall development of the country.
