Huatai Futures: Asian markets will face supply shortages next week, increasing the risk of rising oil prices.

The strait is still under a suspension of navigation and has not received any fundamental easing. As the last batch of Middle East cargoes arrives next week, the entire Asian market will face a huge supply gap. Starting last week, the month spread and physical premiums representing the fundamentals of actual cargoes have already surged sharply. A global oil race is underway driven by energy security concerns. Inventories will enter a depletion phase. Refiners that cannot guarantee raw-material supply will face a decline in utilization rates. Oil prices still face significant upside risk. At the same time, demand destruction will spread first from relatively fragile countries, eventually culminating in a phase of social shutdown similar to what was caused by the pandemic.
