People’s Finance News, March 5 - On March 5, Shen Danyang, head of the drafting group for the “Government Work Report” and director of the State Council Research Office, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that the “Government Work Report” focuses on improving educational equity and quality, making arrangements for educational work across all stages and types. For example, regarding preschool education, this year the policy of free education for the year before school will continue to be implemented, which is commonly referred to as free enrollment in the kindergarten’s final year. Any revenue loss incurred by kindergartens will be compensated by the central and local governments, with the central government covering the majority. This year, funding allocated to support the development of preschool education has significantly increased, by 37.8%.
