Middle East Conflict | Iranian Foreign Minister: Israel Will Pay a Heavy Price for Attacking Infrastructure
On Friday, Israel launched attacks on Iran’s two largest steel mills, a power plant, and civilian nuclear facilities, actions that, according to Israel, were coordinated with the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Alireza Akbari posted on social media in response to Israel’s attacks, stating that Israel would pay a heavy price for its crimes.
Akbari pointed out that these attacks contradicted U.S. President Trump’s earlier claim to “suspend strikes on Iranian energy facilities,” reiterating Iran’s firm stance on safeguarding its national security and interests.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed in the evening that Israeli forces had conducted airstrikes on Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor and a uranium enrichment facility located in Yazd Province, stating that they would continue to weaken Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
Trump had previously posted on social media that he would suspend strikes on Iranian energy facilities for 10 days, until 8 p.m. Eastern Time on April 6.
