Monaco News: Monaco Venturi Space Company recently announced that it has signed a contract with the European Space Agency to conduct lunar rover technology research starting January 1 of this year, preparing for future European lunar missions. The announcement states that this research will focus on lunar surface mobility and driving technologies, including suspension systems and ultra-versatile wheels, aiming to enable the rover to efficiently traverse soft and rugged terrain on the Moon while withstanding temperature variations of about 400 degrees Celsius. Additionally, subsystems such as power supply and thermal management will undergo dedicated research and validation to ensure the rover can endure long lunar nights. The announcement also mentions that Venturi Space will use its lunar rover as the testing platform for this experiment, which will take place in a lunar simulation facility jointly built by the European Space Agency and the German Aerospace Center. Daniel Neumann-Schwand, head of ESA’s Human and Robotic Exploration Department, said, “The space sector is continuously growing, private sector participation is increasing, and global R&D on new technologies is accelerating. Agencies are establishing new partnerships with industry. In this research, ESA is adopting an approach aligned with this strategy.” (Xinhua News Agency)
