Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 18 — According to a data center expansion strategic plan announced by the German government on the 17th local time, by 2030, the computing power of general data centers in Germany will at least double compared to 2025, with dedicated AI computing power increasing at least fourfold from 2025. German Minister for Digital and National Modernization, Carsten Wirthberger, stated that this strategy aims to meet the rapidly growing data processing demands driven by AI applications, cloud services, and digitalization. “Globally, we clearly still have a lot of catching up to do,” Wirthberger said. The upcoming strategic document, which is to be submitted for cabinet approval, proposes 28 specific measures, with the core goal of making Germany a leading data center hub in Europe with data sovereignty.
