Storage has always been an important area of Web3 infrastructure, but few projects truly balance security and efficiency. Walrus, as a practitioner of decentralized storage, has put significant effort into the technical aspects.

The project's core competitiveness is reflected in three aspects: First, an end-to-end encryption architecture, where user data can only be unlocked by the user themselves, even the nodes only store encrypted slices, effectively eliminating privacy leak risks from the source; second, Red Stuff recovery technology, which maintains high availability of data even when nodes frequently change, crucial for long-term storage of personal information and enterprise commercial data; third, programmable storage, providing flexible development space for application layers.

From the token mechanism perspective, the design logic of WAL is relatively complete. It serves as a payment medium for storage fees, a collateral for node staking, and also carries community governance functions—token holders can vote on major matters such as fee adjustments and new feature launches, embodying genuine community participation. Moreover, over 60% of the tokens are allocated to the community, with a long team unlock cycle, effectively avoiding early cash-out risks.

In terms of ecological applications, Walrus has integrated into multiple sectors including AI and RWA. Its collaboration with elizaOS positions the project as an AI agent memory layer, a differentiated positioning that opens new possibilities for storage needs.
