Walrus has been quite popular recently. In March of last year, it completed a $140 million private funding round led by Standard Crypto, with top institutions like a16z crypto and Electric Capital participating. The mainnet went live on March 27. Honestly, securing support from such top-tier institutions definitely indicates they see real value behind it.

The performance after launch has also been impressive. Even during the testnet phase, Walrus was already supporting Decrypt Media's 4K video library, increasing copyright revenue sharing efficiency by a factor of 30. These numbers are quite convincing. During the mainnet operation, Walrus has become a key driver of trading volume on Sui ecosystem DEXes, and many DApp developers are migrating storage services to it.

In terms of application scenarios, Walrus covers a broad range—supporting AI datasets, rich media files, website content, and blockchain historical storage. What's more interesting is that it can also serve as a data availability layer for rollups, placing it in the same category as products like Celestia and EigenDA. However, its differentiation strategy is quite clear. Currently, its ecosystem influence continues to grow, and the story of the Sui ecosystem is still unfolding.

Although the funding numbers are impressive, the key is whether the ecosystem is willing to accept it. Walrus seems to have indeed made some progress on Sui.

Haha, a 30x efficiency boost sounds unbelievable, but the data is right there, and it’s convincing. I just don’t know how long this Sui ecosystem can keep going on.

actually, let me break this down—the 30x efficiency gain is interesting but we need to factor in protocol adoption curves. think of it this way: early adoption metrics often don't scale linearly once you hit mainstream usage. ceteris paribus, this could plateau hard if incentive alignment isn't baked in properly

Hmm... 140 million USD in funding backed by top institutions sounds quite impressive. But to be honest, these days, many projects with substantial funding end up failing, so it really depends on how the mainnet actually performs. Walrus's data is indeed interesting; a 30x efficiency boost is no small feat. However, I'm more concerned about whether this momentum can be sustained in the long term, or if it will just become a passing trend in the crypto world. The Sui ecosystem is quite intriguing. Are they now taking over Solana's pace? That data availability layer role... it feels like the sector is getting a bit crowded. Celestia has been laying the groundwork for a while, so how will Walrus stand out from the competition? Can we get some transparency? Is Walrus's token model reliable? Hopefully, it’s not just another poorly designed tokenomics scheme. For storage projects like this, I usually look at valuation before making a decision. No matter how impressive the fundraising is, the product still has to prove itself.

Hmm... a16z has also come in, this thing might really have some substance.

30x efficiency improvement? Damn, these numbers are pretty intense. If it's not an exaggeration, you really need to pay attention.
