ZachXBT: Unable to accept Cetus's willingness to offer a reward of 5 million dollars for finding the Hacker.

According to Foresight News, on-chain detective ZachXBT stated that if the $5 million reward is only offered upon successfully helping Cetus find the Hacker, no capable company would accept such a fee structure. He mentioned that this requires a lot of time investment, and essentially, the victims bear no upfront risk, while those trying to help have to bear their time and effort. This is not fair. These vague “bounties” are harmful to the industry, as they appear to indicate what the team is doing, but in reality, they do not incentivize anyone. A fair reward structure should compensate for the time spent on an hourly basis and incentivize successful outcomes through a percentage of the commission after success (this is how all top companies structure their fees). Furthermore, there are many factors that indicate these bounties are not fair; what if the attacker resides in an area with a poor legal environment, making arrests difficult? What if law enforcement cannot recover all funds upon arrest? Subsequently, the founder of Slow Mist, Yu Xian, reposted in support, stating he fully agrees with Zach’s opinion that if the project party only looks at results to give bounties, there is indeed no motivation to follow up. Those we have historically assisted with good results must have actively and clearly resolved the motivation to follow up.
