该持仓结构或为一种对冲策略：以大致相等的多空规模，押注市场下行期间 BTC 较更高 Beta 的山寨币更为抗跌。此前市场下行阶段，该策略曾为其带来稳定收益。
然而今日市场回暖，BTC 涨幅约 4.4%，而多数山寨币反弹力度明显更强（ETH 涨 8.3%、XRP 涨 5.9%、ADA 涨 10.7%）。受此影响，该巨鲸多空双向持仓同步承压，整体亏损扩大，资金日回撤超 60 万美元。
