Tether thông báo sẽ chấm dứt hỗ trợ stablecoin CNH₮ được bảo chứng bằng nhân dân tệ ngoài khơi, do điều kiện thị trường thay đổi và nhu cầu thấp. Quyết định có hiệu lực ngay lập tức, theo đó Tether sẽ ngừng phát hành token CNH₮ mới. Việc hỗ trợ quy đổi (redeem) sẽ kết thúc sau một năm kể từ ngày công bố, và công ty sẽ gửi thông báo nhắc trước khi đến hạn chót.
Tether cho biết quy mô của CNH₮ không còn đủ lớn để biện minh cho chi phí vận hành, kỹ thuật và tuân thủ pháp lý. Trong thời gian còn lại, CNH₮ vẫn có thể được quy đổi theo các điều khoản hiện hành. Tether khuyến nghị người nắm giữ nên quy đổi sớm để tránh rủi ro phát sinh khi thời hạn kết thúc hỗ trợ đến gần.
