Jinshi data on February 12th, the Sudanese armed forces and the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces engaged in fierce fighting at the Zamzam refugee camp in North Darfur state in the western part of the country. According to local Sudanese organization reports, the fighting resulted in casualties at the refugee camp. Bashir Tabik, the commander of the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces, issued a statement on the 11th, stating that the forces seized a large amount of war materials and 23 artillery pieces in the battle at the Zamzam refugee camp. This indicates that the local armed forces allied with the Sudanese armed forces have used the refugee camp as a military base and have used civilians as human shields. The Sudanese armed forces then posted on social media that the armed forces stationed in the state capital of Fashir in North Darfur successfully repelled the large-scale attack launched by the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces on the Zamzam refugee camp with the help of airstrikes and shelling.
