Musk 'reiterates' support for far-right German party

Elon Musk published a comment article in the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, reiterating his support for the far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD) just under two months before the German election. In the commentary published on Saturday, Musk wrote:“Despite AfD being described as far-right, it represents a political realism that resonates with many Germans who feel their concerns have been ignored by the establishment. It addresses today’s problems without the constant concealment of political correctness.” As an important advisor to US President-elect Trump, Musk has extensive business interests in Germany, including a factory near Berlin owned by TSL (TSLA.O). Musk has previously criticized Germany’s bureaucracy and has become more deeply involved in the country’s politics in recent weeks. He also used populist language to support the anti-immigrant AfD on social media platform “X,” while insulting German Chancellor Angela Merkel and endorsing the party’s stance on Germany leaving the EU and the eurozone.
