BNP Paribas: Expects Japan's Central Bank to Raise Interest Rates in December

On November 7th, Jin10 Data reported that Ryotaro Hino, an economist at BNP Paribas, said that despite the uncertainty of President-elect Trump’s policies, the Japanese Central Bank is expected to raise interest rates in December. He said that since the presidential inauguration will take place on January 20th, the haze is unlikely to dissipate in the short term. The weakening of the yen may prompt action from the Japanese Central Bank. He said, ‘If the Japanese Central Bank continues to wait and see until the uncertainty is fully resolved, the yen may weaken further.’
