On August 31st, according to CNN, Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov emphasized that the dismissal of the former bearish traders commander of the Ukrainian military, Nikolai Olexiuk, was unrelated to the death of the distinguished pilot Alexei Mes, who crashed and died while flying a US-provided F-16 fighter jet a few days ago. "I might say it's a kind of rotation. These are two independent issues... At the moment, I won't link them." Umerov described the death of the F-16 pilot as "unfortunate" and stated that Ukraine is investigating the incident. "We are analyzing what happened. We have also opened this file to our partners, so they are also analyzing and investigating with us."
