Multicoin co-founder: The only way to achieve effective price discovery is to unlock 100% of the tokens on the first day of listing.

Odaily News Multicoin co-founder Kyle Samani posted on X, stating: “For years, I have been advocating for the projects I invest in to have 100% unlock on Day 1, as it is the only way to achieve effective price discovery. The team that came closest to doing this is Solana, who had a major unlock in the 9th month.” Kyle Samani further stated that another option worth considering is team lock-up positions, but investors are not locked up. This approach is rationalized because investors have already completed their work - they put in the money, mission accomplished; employees have not yet completed their work - they need to continue working. A mechanism based on price or time triggering unlocks could be adopted to make it easier for employees to accept this model.
