Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, shared on The Master Investor podcast that she prioritizes Bitcoin over Ethereum. She believes that Bitcoin will continue to lead the crypto market due to its role as a rules-based global monetary system and as the only Layer 1 that has never been hacked.
Wood emphasizes that although Ethereum supports decentralized finance (DeFi) and innovation, it is facing increasing competition from Layer 2 solutions aimed at improving scalability and reducing costs. However, she also mentioned that she is gradually becoming more interested in Ethereum and has recently increased her exposure by purchasing shares of BitMine.
Her perspective reflects a balance between the safety and dominance of Bitcoin with the innovative potential of Ethereum and its ecosystem. Overall, Wood is cautiously optimistic about Ethereum but still believes in Bitcoin's long-term position in the crypto market.
