Average hourly wage in the US rose in April

GoldenOctober2024

Jin10 data reported on May 2nd that the average hourly wage in the U.S. increased by 0.2% in April compared to the previous month, with the year-on-year growth rate remaining roughly stable at 3.8% like in March. Since 2022, the growth of workers’ income has gradually slowed, but the inflation driving the real income growth of workers is also slowing down. How long wage growth can be sustained will be a key factor in determining whether the one-time tariff price increase will translate into a long-term inflation cycle.
