Protect Progress 隶属于大型加密政治组织 Fairshake。该机构在声明中表示，Al Green 作为金融服务委员会成员，曾反对稳定币监管法案《GENIUS Act》以及市场结构改革法案《CLARITY Act》，被视为阻碍美国金融创新的关键人物。他自2005年以来代表德克萨斯州第九选区，已在国会任职二十余年。
加密倡导组织 Stand With Crypto 根据投票记录与公开言论，将 Al Green 评为“强烈反对加密货币”。而其对手、休斯顿地区候选人 Christian Menefee，则被评为“强烈支持加密货币”。Menefee 表示，他希望推动区块链在房产登记、防止契约欺诈等公共领域的应用，以提升政府系统透明度。
此次行动被视为加密行业在2026年中期选举前的重要布局。数据显示，2024年大选期间，仅 Fairshake 一家就投入约1.3亿美元支持亲加密候选人，使该行业跻身美国政治最大金主之列。根据最新披露，该组织今年已为新一轮选举筹集1.93亿美元。
