ChainCatcher 消息，1 月 30 日解封的爱泼斯坦文件显示，他在加密货币形成期与多位行业核心人物有联系。2014 年邮件证实，他参与了比特币基础设施公司 Blockstream 超额认购的 1800 万美元种子轮融资，通过 MIT Media Lab 的 Joi Ito 基金将个人投资额从 5 万美元增至 50 万美元。联合创始人 Austin Hill 和比特币先驱 Adam Back 均在邮件往来中。

文件还显示，2014 年他与 Peter Thiel 讨论比特币定义；2016 年向沙特皇室顾问提议创建伊斯兰教加密货币；2011 年称比特币很聪明但有严重缺点；2017 年明确回复不值得购买比特币。此外，MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor 和特朗普新提名的美联储主席 Kevin Warsh 的名字也出现在 2010 年圣巴特新年派对宾客名单中。

美国司法部确认，调查未发现爱泼斯坦使用加密货币洗钱或逃避监管的证据，他的角色仅限于高层人脉、偶尔投资和观察者。
