YouTube clarifies new policy: it has not banned all Crypto Assets content, only targeting gambling.
On November 6th, Decrypt reported that YouTube recently announced it will expand its ban on online gambling content, prohibiting creators from directing viewers to websites that offer “additional items with monetary value” (including game skins, decorations, and NFTs). This policy will take effect on November 17th. This announcement has sparked strong reactions in the crypto community, with many creators worried that this will lead to a complete ban on crypto content (especially crypto gaming content) on YouTube. However, a YouTube spokesperson confirmed that this is not the case. The Google-owned company stated: “Content showcasing the skins or decorations creators earn in games, or regular discussions about items with real monetary value (such as NFTs), will not be affected by this update.”
