Myanmar PM's X-Account Hacked to Promote Scam!
Hackers broke into the official account of Myanmar Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing on the social network X (formerly Twitter) and announced the launch of a fake "national cryptocurrency of the Republic." Posts advertising the tokens appeared on February 22, 2025, and caused a wave of discussions in the community.
Analysts note that scammers launched several memcoins at once, passing them off as official digital assets of the country. One of these tokens, MYANMAR, lost 95% of its value almost immediately after appearing on the market.
The account continued to post for some time, ignoring warnings from the community. Among the posts was an announcement about the launch of BIRMAS, a fake token supposedly aimed at supporting economic development in Myanmar.
