Abstract generation in progress

At the RISC-V Ecosystem Technology Forum of the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum annual conference held on March 26, the Chinese Academy of Sciences released major achievements by our national research teams in tackling key challenges in the chip industry: the “Xiangshan” open-source computing system and the “Ruyi” native operating system, both based on the 5th-generation Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC-V). The “Xiangshan” open-source computing system is currently the only open-source high-performance processor system internationally that is based on the 5th-generation RISC-V instruction set. From the core processor cores to the supporting interconnect network and development tools, it is fully open source, breaking the monopoly on high-end processor IP, allowing companies to freely access core technologies and develop advanced chips independently. The “Ruyi” native operating system is a “dedicated butler” custom-built specifically for 5th-generation RISC-V architecture chips. Its core role is to solve the adaptation problem between chips and software. It builds a unified “testing platform,” fundamentally avoiding the issue of “fragmentation of the software ecosystem.” In addition, by providing native support for the international high-performance standard RVA23, it ensures that high-end chips can fully realize their performance and that related software can run stably.
