U.S. media reports that Trump is "clenching his fist while preparing for negotiations"
According to a report by the U.S. news website Axios on the 24th, U.S. and Israeli officials said that U.S. President Trump is preparing both for diplomatic negotiations with Iran and for military escalation. Even if the United States negotiates with Iran, the U.S. and Israel also plan to carry out two to three more weeks of military strikes against Iran. Axios, citing a White House official, reported that Trump that day instructed Defense Secretary Hegseth to maintain military pressure on Iran. Hegseth soon told reporters at the White House, “We negotiate with bombs.” The report also cited a quote from one of Trump’s advisers saying, “Trump reaches out to prepare for negotiations while keeping his fist clenched, ready to slap your face at any time.” The report stated that the White House has conveyed information to Iran, “indicating that Trump is serious about negotiations,” and noted that Vice President Vance may participate in the talks. It added that “Trump’s special envoy Wittekoff recommended Vance because of the importance of his position, and because Iranians believe he is not a hawk.” (Xinhua)
