On March 4 local time, Google announced that it will cut in-app purchase commissions in its app store to 20%, and will add an extra 5% if developers choose to use Google’s payment system. At the same time, Google said that, through a new option called the “Registered App Store program,” users can install third-party app stores more conveniently. In a statement on the company blog, Google also said, “With these updates, we have reached a global settlement with Epic Games.” Epic Games will also relist Fortnite in Google’s app store worldwide.
