(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, citing Reuters, the Russian-flagged vessel “Anatoly Kolodkin” delivered approximately 700,000 barrels of oil and docked on Tuesday at the country’s largest fuel terminal.

The United States said it allowed the oil delivery on humanitarian grounds amid a deep energy crisis in Cuba, which has been accompanied by prolonged power outages and problems in transportation and the healthcare system.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stated that the country had not received oil tankers for three months.

The Kremlin said that Moscow would continue working to support Cuba, while the Trump administration noted that any further oil shipments would be considered on a case-by-case basis.
