Iranian President issues open letter to the American people
Iranian President Pezeshkian has issued an open letter to the American people. In the letter, he said that the Iranian people bear no hostility toward other countries; it is the United States that has amassed a large number of military bases and military forces around Iran, creating a military threat against Iran. What Iran has taken—and will continue to take—is a response based on the lawful right of self-defense; it is absolutely not about starting a war or committing aggression. Pezeshkian emphasized that the destructive impact of U.S. sanctions, wars, and aggression on the lives of the Iranian people cannot be underestimated. Attacking Iran’s critical infrastructure, including energy and industrial infrastructure, constitutes a war crime. Pezeshkian further questioned whether the United States’ current policy truly aligns with “America First.” He said that the United States has now effectively become an agent of Israel, striking at Iran; its policy is deeply influenced by and manipulated by the Israeli regime. And Israel, in turn, is attempting to divert international attention from the crimes it has committed in Palestine by deliberately fabricating the “Iran threat” narrative. In addition, Pezeshkian also invited the American public to break free from the constraints of political talking points and to reexamine Iran’s past, present, and vision for the future—a peaceful future that is not oriented toward confrontation, but instead grounded in truth, dignity, and mutual understanding.
