A reporter learned on the 25th from the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province that the expansion of opening at the Jinshuihe highway port on the China-Vietnam border successfully passed the national joint inspection and acceptance before the scheduled date. With this, the port has officially completed the infrastructure upgrades required to move from bilateral clearance to international multilateral clearance.

According to the information, the Jinshuihe highway port is located in Jinping Miao, Yao and Dai Autonomous County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and it connects with the Malutang highway port in Vietnam. Previously, the port could only be used for the passage of personnel and goods between China and Vietnam. After passing the inspection and acceptance for expanded external opening and completing the relevant procedures, it can be opened to third countries, meaning the port will have a stronger “international feel.”

As one of Yunnan Province’s main routes to Vietnam and Honghe Prefecture’s opened ports, the Jinshuihe port in 2025 handled 294,000 tons of import and export cargo freight, with a cargo value of 697 million yuan; year-on-year, the volume and value increased by 37.5% and 167.7%, respectively. The number of people entering and leaving the country reached 536,400 person-trips.

According to the information, the completion of this inspection and acceptance has brought an all-round upgrade. The time for personnel to wait for inspection has been reduced by 66%; the clearance time for trucks has been cut from 1 hour to 5 minutes; the cargo clearance efficiency has improved by 50%; the annual passenger clearance capacity can reach 2 million passenger trips, and the cargo clearance capacity is nearly 20 million tons.
