Iran Demands Permanent End to War as Precondition for Ceasefire Talks

On April 2, sources from Iran stated that the country requires a permanent end to the war as a precondition for ceasefire negotiations with the United States. The sources also indicated that mediators had engaged with Iran on March 31 to discuss the continuation of diplomatic dialogue. However, as of now, the United States and Iran have not officially initiated ceasefire talks through the mediators.
