March automaker delivery figures released; new entrants show impressive growth

On April 1, multiple automakers successively released their March 2026 sales data. Based on the figures already disclosed, leading new-energy brands are continuing a high-growth momentum.

Leapmotor delivered 50,029 vehicles across its full lineup in March, up 35% year over year and up 78.25% month over month. On the same day, Leapmotor also issued a voluntary announcement. The company’s founder, Chairman and CEO Zhu Jiangming, and shareholder Fu Liquan recently increased their holdings in the company’s shares again. The average price was approximately HK$45.10. The total amount of this share increase was approximately HK$230 million.

Li Auto delivered 41,053 new cars in March, up 11.94% year over year and up 55.38% month over month. In the first quarter of this year, Li Auto’s delivery volume was 95,142 vehicles.

With production capacity bottlenecks fully resolved after the Spring Festival, the delivery volume of the Li i6 has continued to rise, exceeding 24,000 units in March, placing it among the top sellers in pure-electric SUV models priced between 200,000 and 300,000 yuan. Benefiting from strong user reputation, the Li i8 has also seen steady growth in order volume, with month-over-month gains exceeding 100% in March.

NIO disclosed that it delivered 35,486 new cars in March, up 136% year over year and up 70.6% month over month. Of this, the NIO brand delivered 22,490 new cars, up 120.1% year over year and up 48.4% month over month; the LeDao brand delivered 6,877 new cars, up 42.7% year over year and up 130.7% month over month. In the first quarter of 2026, NIO delivered 83,465 new cars in total, up 98.3% year over year.

Deepal Automobile sold 31,742 units globally in March, up 30% year over year and up 87.7% month over month. Among them, the Deepal L06’s sales rose 170% month over month, the Deepal S07’s sales rose 157% month over month, and cumulative sales of the Deepal S05 surpassed 190,000 units.

Geely’s Zeekr delivered 29,318 new cars in March, up 90% year over year and up 22.84% month over month. Among them, the Zeekr 9X model’s March deliveries exceeded 10,000 units, and the Zeekr 8X will be launched in mid-April.

Xpeng delivered a total of 27,415 new cars in March, down 17.4% year over year and up 79.7% month over month. Among them, Xpeng X9 delivered 3,075 units, up 134% year over year, and cumulative global deliveries surpassed 55,000 units.

In March, Xiaomi delivered more than 20,000 vehicles. Of these, the new-generation SU7, which started deliveries on March 23, had accumulated deliveries of over 7,000 units within 9 days, with an average daily delivery volume of nearly 800 units.

Seres’ deliveries in March were 20,598 units in production, up 38.92%; and sales were 20,234 units, up 47.74%.

Great Wall Motor’s March sales were 106,198 vehicles, up 8.38% year over year; and production was 122,881 vehicles, up 22.80%.

Lantu Automobile delivered 15,019 new cars in March, up 50% year over year and up 80% month over month.

IM Motors’ March sales were 7,187 vehicles, up 131.8% year over year and up 256.3% month over month.

The China Automobile Circulation Association previously estimated that in March, terminal passenger traffic and vehicle sales are expected to rebound month over month. The main supporting factors include the return of employees to cities after the Spring Festival driving consumption back to normal, along with multiple locations launching spring auto shows, the rapid release of new models, and clearer procedures for applying for local “two new” subsidies, which together help unleash demand for car purchases.
