U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington is very clear that China and Russia are helping Iran, and that the U.S. will respond to such actions where necessary.

According to Reuters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously said that Russia has been helping Tehran’s authorities by providing drones and intelligence to Iran.

On Wednesday, at a Pentagon briefing, when asked about reports of China and Russia aiding Iran, Hegseth said, “Regarding Russia and China, we’re very clear on what they’re doing, and what they’re not doing. We don’t need to put everything out in the open, but where necessary, we will move to address, mitigate, or respond directly.”

In addition, Hegseth cited intelligence indicating that the attack campaign is undermining the morale of Iran’s forces, leading to widespread cases of Iran troops deserting and a shortage of key personnel, which has left top leaders frustrated. He also said that the next few days will be a decisive moment.
