Growth rate of 19.5%! Behind Wenzhou's number one, Longgang's "trend" and "wisdom"

Wenzhou Longgang city in Zhejiang province has released its economic performance report for January to February, with data showing that the city’s main economic indicators are moving in a positive direction in a coordinated manner, and that its industrial economy has gotten off to a strong start.

As one of the important indicators for measuring economic development, in January to February this year, Longgang’s value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 19.5% year over year, with the growth rate ranking first among all counties and districts in Wenzhou. Among them, the emerging consumer sector and the digital transformation of traditional industries have both driven forward, becoming the core engine behind Longgang’s strong industrial start.

Driven by the “guzi economy,” Longgang’s cultural and creative industry is experiencing explosive growth. Qixing (Longgang) Technology Development Co., Ltd., a leading local company focused on producing second-dimension (2D) IP merchandise, is precisely seizing market opportunities. Relying on popular IP such as Full-Time Master and Taitianla, it has created distinctive products; from January to February, its output value growth rate reached as high as 782.27%. Even just the merchandise related to Full-Time Master has a shipment volume of 8,000 boxes.

“Because these two best-selling products are selling explosively, whether through live-streaming rooms or channels like the gacha machine, our sales have really taken off. These past two months, we’ve been busy packing and shipping orders, and we’ve also specifically added a lot of extra staff.” said Yang Rongzhi, the company’s executive vice president.

At the same time, digital and intelligent upgrades have become a key lever for local companies to improve quality and efficiency. Wenzhou Pureite Printing Industry Co., Ltd. invested more than 9 million yuan to introduce digital efficiency-enhancement equipment. In January to February, the company’s output value exceeded 8 million yuan, with a growth rate of 206.83%, showing a remarkable transformation result.

“All of our equipment uses the latest technology, significantly improving production efficiency. Our gift box production lines and the printing workshop have both completed digital transformation, and capacity efficiency is still being continuously optimized.” said Lin Jing, the company’s general manager.

It is understood that Longgang currently has 449 industrial enterprises above designated size. In recent years, relying on its industrial foundation as the “China Printing City,” Longgang has been promoting the traditional printing and packaging industry to extend into higher value-added areas such as cultural and creative products and trending toys, while also nurturing and growing emerging cultural and creative industries.
