Home Appliance ETF Guotai (159996) rises over 1.5%, industry transformation and demand stabilization attract attention
On April 1, the Cathay Home Appliances ETF (159996) rose more than 1.5%, as industry changes and demand stabilization attracted attention
Guolian Minsheng Securities said that the household appliances and white goods home appliance industries are undergoing profound changes. On the one hand, China’s home appliance market has entered a stock-based competition stage, with growth momentum mainly driven by ongoing support from product mix upgrades and the home-appliance trade-in policy, and consumers’ demand for intelligent, high-end, and energy-saving and environmentally friendly products is increasingly prominent. On the other hand, after earlier cost pressures and demand fluctuations, the industry’s overall profitability has been somewhat squeezed, and price competition in some categories still exists. At present, with their strong advantages in brands, channels, and supply chains, industry leaders are continuously consolidating market share and have strong resilience against risks. Looking ahead, with marginal improvements in real estate policies that may bring about delayed demand, and the resilience of export markets under global supply-chain pattern adjustments, industry demand is expected to gradually stabilize. Companies with core technologies and proactive overseas and emerging-category deployment are even more likely to enhance their profitability as the industry landscape optimizes.
The Cathay Home Appliances ETF (159996) tracks the Household Appliances Index (930697). This index selects securities of relevant companies involved in the manufacturing and sales of products such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and washing machines, as well as kitchen small appliances, from the market as index samples, to reflect the overall performance of listed-company securities in the household appliances industry. The index focuses on the consumer electronics sector and has a strong industry cyclical nature and consumer upgrade characteristics.
