Gold falls below $4,500, with the year-to-date increase retreating to 4%

March 26, during the Asian morning session, gold and silver opened higher and then pulled back. As of 7:55 Beijing time, spot gold is down 0.16% at $4,497.98 per ounce, falling below the $4,500 level. The gain since the start of the year has eased to 4%. Spot silver is down 0.7% at $70.669 per ounce, with losses since the start of the year of 1.27%.
