U.S. intelligence agencies: Iran currently has no intention of engaging in substantive negotiations, believing that Trump lacks sincerity.

Odaily Planet Daily reports: According to The New York Times, U.S. officials said that multiple U.S. intelligence agencies recently assessed that the Iranian government is currently unwilling to engage in substantive negotiations to end the U.S.-Israel war. The officials said their assessments indicate that the Iranian government believes it is in a strong position in the war and therefore does not need to yield to the United States’ diplomatic demands. They said that although Iran is willing to keep communication channels open, the country does not trust the United States and believes that President Trump is not genuinely sincere about negotiations. Over the past year, Trump has ordered attacks on Iran twice while negotiating with Iran over its nuclear program. These assessments are consistent with recent statements by Iranian officials. U.S. and Iranian officials said the two sides are exchanging information with each other through intermediary countries, and possibly also through direct channels, but they have not been negotiating the conditions for a ceasefire or for ending the war.
