Strategic Homogeneity: Unblocking the Land-Sea New Corridor "Artery" — Hainan Expressway and Pinglu Canal Group Hold a Special Meeting on Sand and Aggregate Cooperation
(Source: Hainan Expressway)
Recently, Hainan Expressway held a special symposium at Hainan Mansion with the Pinglu Canal Group to conduct in-depth exchanges on core matters such as sand and gravel aggregate production and processing, cross-regional trade, and coordinated industrial chain development. Hu Dong, a member of the Party committee and deputy general manager of Hainan Transportation Group, as well as a member of the Party committee of Hainan Expressway, presided over the meeting. Dang Long, deputy secretary of the Party committee and general manager of Hainan Expressway, and relevant leaders from the Construction Group attended the meeting.
At the symposium, Wang Weidong, a member of the Party committee and deputy general manager of the Pinglu Canal Group, introduced the company’s own quarry resources and a mature sand and gravel processing, production, and supply system, which features outstanding capability in ensuring the supply of high-quality sand and gravel aggregate. He also shared plans being worked on regarding the navigation-related development for the Pinglu Canal with the company’s own vessels. Hu Dong focused on introducing the strategic layout of Hainan Transportation Group after its reorganization, as well as the current trend of strong demand for building materials. He noted that it is urgent to connect with high-quality and stable sand and gravel aggregate resources to ensure project supply and optimize overall costs.
Both parties believe that the two regions of Guilin and Qiong have clear complementary advantages in resources. Guangxi is rich in mineral resources, with cost advantages that stand out. After the Pinglu Canal opens for navigation, it will greatly optimize transportation routes, reduce cross-regional transport costs, and lay a solid foundation for cooperation between both sides while demonstrating broad prospects. In addition, the two sides also conducted an initial discussion on the cooperation potential in extended areas such as vessel manufacturing and port route interlinkage.
The meeting clarified a clear cooperation path. Hu Dong emphasized that in the short term, both sides will focus on sand and gravel aggregate trading and entrusted processing business, accelerate the launch of substantive cooperation, and quickly form supply capacity. At the meeting, the Pinglu Canal Group immediately arranged a professional team to station in Qiongzhou to connect and improve the cooperation plan, so as to push the work in the early stage to land. At the same time, the Construction Group established a special working group to fully advance the cooperation and strive to achieve substantive results as early as possible.
Both parties stated that they will take this sand and gravel aggregate cooperation as an entry point, continue to expand collaboration across multiple fields, deepen regional economic linkages, and explore deeper models such as joint ventures to build plants and equity cooperation, working together to create an integrated, high-efficiency building materials supply chain.
