Sources: Italy's Ministry of Defense refuses U.S. military aircraft to use its air force bases

People’s Finance and News reported on March 31. The reporter learned on March 31 local time that, according to an insider, a few days ago, Italian Defense Minister Mauro Cereseto rejected a request by the United States for U.S. military aircraft to use the Sigonella Air Base in Sicily. The Italian Ministry of Defense explained that the U.S. side had not communicated in advance or obtained authorization, which does not fall within the scope specified under the military treaties between Italy and the United States.
