Federal Reserve's Moussallem: Iran War Energy Shock Will Fully Drive Up Inflation

Odaily Planet Daily News: On Wednesday, James Bullard, president of the St. Louis Fed, said that an energy shock related to a war involving Iran will certainly affect overall inflation and could also put pressure on core prices. Speaking at an event hosted by the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, he said, “I expect that rising commodity prices will pass through to overall inflation one-for-one, and there will be a period of high overall inflation.” He added, “Core inflation will also be affected by some transmission; I will closely monitor the degree of transmission and the correlation between the two.” (Jinshi)
