People’s Finance News, March 30—The 14th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization concluded on March 30 in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. During the four-day meeting, participating representatives reached a number of outcomes. The meeting issued a joint ministerial declaration on the Agreement on Investment Facilitation for Development, signaling an important step toward the implementation of the world’s first multilateral investment agreement; it reached a temporary implementation arrangement for the E-commerce Agreement, which will strongly promote the development of global digital trade; ministers also adopted decisions on topics including fisheries subsidies, special and differential treatment for small economies, inspection and quarantine, and measures relating to technical regulations; and an important consensus was formed on WTO reform.
