Ultra-compact AI chips can perform calculations at the speed of light

Scientists at the University of Sydney in Australia have developed an ultra-compact artificial intelligence (AI) chip. This is a nanoscale chip based on photonic technology that can perform computations at the speed of light, laying a solid foundation for developing more energy-efficient AI hardware. The related paper was published in the latest issue of the journal Nature Communications.
