Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar said in remarks on March 29, local time, that the United States and Iran have expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to facilitate talks. The Dar added that the U.S.-Iran talks will take place in Pakistan within the next few days. “Pakistan would be honored to host and facilitate meaningful talks aimed at reaching a comprehensive, lasting solution to the current conflict.”

According to CCTV News, on March 29, Dar issued a statement outlining the outcomes of a meeting among the foreign ministers of four countries—Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia—that day. The statement said that Dar briefly presented the prospects for U.S.-Iran negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, and that the foreign ministers present expressed full support. The four countries decided to set up a committee composed of the four foreign ministers to consult and develop specific proposals to resolve the conflict.
