Related Digital completes $16 billion financing to fund Oracle data center construction
Investing.com – According to a Bloomberg report on Wednesday, Related Digital is completing $16 billion in financing for an Oracle Corp. data center in Michigan.
The developer has been raising capital to build a campus in Sarlin Township, enabling Oracle to provide application support for OpenAI. This financing is another deal following other large debt financing arrangements assembled by banks for the Oracle data center group, including a $38 billion debt transaction for facilities in Texas and Wisconsin, as well as $18 billion in financing for a project in New Mexico.
According to people familiar with the matter, Blackstone Group’s equity investment is about $2 billion. Another $14 billion in debt financing led by Bank of America was initially planned to be construction lending, but is now expected to involve a bond issuance, the report said. The financing is expected to be finalized as early as this month.
Related Digital is a joint venture of New York-based real estate developer Related Cos., which said the financing would be completed soon, the project is progressing as planned, and the first batch of steel columns has just been installed.
