Blinkit At Mumbai Airport? Internet Reacts Over Quick Delivery Access At CSMIA - 'Seems Like An April Fool's Prank'
(MENAFN- Live Mint) Blinkit chief Albinder Dhindsa on Wednesday announced that the e-commerce platform launched its service at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). This initiative makes it the first airport globally to provide quick-commerce service.
At which CSMIA terminal can travellers access Blinkit delivery?
Blinkit’s delivery will exclusively be available at Terminal 2, allowing travellers to order over 2500 products via the application. The orders will be delivered on foot within the terminal by dedicated staff, including phone chargers, books, and gifts.

The CEO of Eternal, the parent of Zomato and Blinkit, Albinder Dhindsa shared the update in a post on X,“Today we’re launching Blinkit inside the Mumbai Airport! Specifically Terminal 2 (Domestic departures) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Through our partnership with Adani Airports, travellers can now order from a selection of 2500+ products like phone chargers, books, gifts and more on the Blinkit app. Orders will be delivered within the terminal by our dedicated team of walkers.”

Urging its customers to update Blinkit app to the latest version to order, he added,“This is the first airport in the world to have a service of this kind and we’re excited to deliver all the last-minute needs of our customers.”
Social media reaction
A user wrote,“This seems like an April Fool’s prank, as it will almost kill the revenue model of shops at the airport. A major win for the public, but too good to be true. I will consider it as April Fool’s Day.”
Another user wrote,“Not the best day for a launch.”
A third user stated,“Wish this was actually real. Would’ve absolutely shaken the aviation space.”

A fourth user said,“I assume you are not ripping off customers with predatory airport pricing!”
A fifth user remarked,“Good initiative… Also necessary in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Delhi Airports(sic).”
A sixth comment read,“If true, legendary. Otherwise, great April Fool’s Day.”
A seventh user wrote,“Who needs this? Qcomm needs to stop infiltrating every space. Stop forcing your product down people’s throats in the name of ‘convenience’.”
Amazon slashes seller referral fees amid competition from Blinkit, Instamart
Amazon slashed seller referral fees amid competition from Eternal’s Blinkit and Swiggy’s Instamart. The new structure, which came into effect on 16 March, covers more than 125 million products.
“This move is designed to make selling on Amazon more lucrative and simpler, particularly for small businesses and entrepreneurs in tier-2 and tier-3 cities,” Reuters quoted the director of Selling Partner Services for Amazon India, Amit Nanda, as saying.
According to Amazon’s December statement, it would expand its AI infrastructure and invest more than $35 billion in India by 2030, with a focus on growing retail logistics and spurring small-business growth.
