The Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission’s Market Surveillance Division, Leung Chung-yin, said that at present, UK companies have not yet been able to participate in securities paperless trading because local law needs to be amended to support it. He said that in the past he communicated with the UK regulators and the Ministry of Finance, and proposed that since the other party is revising the relevant laws on digitization, it could also amend the relevant laws for Hong Kong’s paperless market.
