Market data: 2805 red-board stocks, 2230 green-board stocks, 62 limit-ups, 10 down-limit stocks, 181 stocks closing strongly up, 103 stocks closing sharply down, pullback wave -5: 138, -10: 9, attack wave +8: 116.
Indices: The total traded value of both markets was 19159 billion; volume increased by 626 billion. The main index rose 0.24%, closing at 3923, with a high of 3924 and a low of 3872. In the early session, the markets in Japan and South Korea fell sharply, and combined with continued instability in the Middle East situation over the weekend, these factors also caused the market index to open significantly lower. But since this is already a consolidation period, just like Friday, the highest-probability scenario is to open lower and then rise. However, if the index opens higher tomorrow, you need to watch for an open-high pullback. In any case, the current index opening lower is nothing to panic about; but if it opens higher, you should guard against it.
On the tape: From market data, market performance is generally average, and today’s tape is also average. Actually, according to today’s movement of the main index, today’s tape should have been pretty good. The reason it looks average is mainly because the “mainline power” sector’s lagging selloff dragged behind. Today there were 10 stocks on the downside limit; aside from Xiwang Food being on the downside limit due to an announcement of delisting risk, the rest are power-sector stocks. Especially, the downside limit of two core leaders—Huadian Energy and Huadian Liaoning—makes this power-sector pullback possibly still be influenced by supervision. Yu Energy continues to “carry a cup,” and even the leader Huadian Huayi Therapeutics faces a 200% abnormal move risk. There won’t be money willing to easily “cross this hurdle.” So today the power sector was also helpless: since power was lagging and pulling back, funds shifted into a rotation state. Today many sectors rotated; clearly rotated ones include aluminum, pharmaceuticals, optical communications, and commercial aerospace. Aluminum is also due to Middle East-related reasons. In terms of early-session strength, it was not present during mid-session and late-session. Pharmaceuticals were led by Menopharm. For optical communications, this large-cap—Changfei Optoelectronics—has had three boards in the last five days, with good strength. Then commercial aerospace’s Zengsheng Technology also had three boards in five days. These are all the leading board stocks of their respective sectors. Tomorrow, to assess sector strength, first look at these. But tomorrow it feels like the sectors will keep focusing on rotation—check whether these sectors show follow-through. If there is, you can do something with it.
