Gelonghui March 30 | Vietnam Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) announced on Monday that the company is in negotiations with Russian partners to purchase crude oil. The company also plans to buy more crude oil from Africa, the United States, and Southeast Asia. “BSR is actively and proactively discussing with Russian partners the possibility of purchasing ESPO, Sokol, and Novy Port crude oil,” the statement said. A source indicated that BSR has purchased 950,000 barrels of Nigeria Erha crude oil from ExxonMobil and 950,000 barrels of Angola Palanca crude oil from BP, with delivery scheduled for June. The source also stated that BSR has not yet purchased any Russian crude oil. The company said its refinery, with a daily capacity of 130,000 barrels, plans to operate at 123% of its designed capacity in the second quarter, producing 2 million tons of petroleum products. BSR aims to produce a record 8.3 million tons of petroleum products this year. The company is expanding its oil storage capacity, and a new storage facility is scheduled to be operational in May.
