Qingma Bridge saw a serious traffic accident on Monday night, resulting in 2 deaths.

The police said the incident happened at around 11:00 p.m. A Long Win E32A route bus was traveling along the Qingma Bridge’s inner lane toward the airport when it suddenly collided with a taxi on the bridge.

The taxi’s male driver and male passenger were injured. When the two were rescued, both were unconscious. After being taken to Yan Chai Hospital, they were confirmed dead. In addition, a female passenger on the bus sustained minor injuries. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Affected by the accident, at 11:30 p.m. the Transport Department announced that the middle lane and slow lane on the Qingma Bridge of the Tsing-Yi Link, heading toward the airport and near Ma Wan, were closed. Drivers may only use the express lane.
